Is the use of your templates restricted to any pre-determined period?

No, all our templates can be downloaded and saved onto your system and the use of our templates is not restricted to any pre-determined period. Once you have therefore downloaded our templates, you can basically use them forever! Note that this also applies to customers who decide to purchase a full membership - all members will be able to continue using the templates long after their membership period has expired (as long as they have downloaded the templates before the membership expiry date).

If I decide to purchase a full membership, will I only be able to access the templates for 365 days?

No. The use of our templates is not limited to any pre-determined period. All the templates can be downloaded and saved onto your local system and do not expire after 365 days. You can therefore basically use the templates forever. The only important point to note is that your access to the Members section of our website will expire after 365 days - you therefore need to ensure that you download and save all the templates before this expiry date.

When will I be able to download the template(s) or membership that I purchased?

Customers who process their payments by credit card or through PayPal are able to download their templates or to log into the Members section of our website as soon as the payment process has been completed. Customers who pay by electronic transfer are only able to download their templates or to log into the Members section after their payments have been confirmed and their download or membership access has been activated (needs to be done manually). In order to ensure prompt activation of your membership or download access, you therefore need to send us your proof of payment as soon as you have completed the payment. Manual activations for local customers are completed within 24 hours if proof of payment is received timeously (can be as quickly as 1 business hour if proof of payment is received within business hours). International transfers can take up to 7 days to be confirmed depending on which country you are in and which bank you are using for the transfer.

Please also note that if you processed payment through PayPal and you were not redirected to the download or login page immediately after completing your payment, you will also receive a membership or download activation e-mail which contains a link to the download or login page. You can therefore use the link in the e-mail in order to download your templates or to log into the Members section of our website.

Are the full versions of your templates protected in any way? Will I be able to make changes to the templates?

None of the data sheets in any of our templates are protected in any way. This means that you will have full access to all cells and the formulas that are included in all the cells. You will therefore be able to make all the changes to the templates that you may require. We only protect our template instructions sheet for legal & copyright purposes. This protection cannot be removed but if you do not want to include this sheet in the version that you are using, you will be able to move the sheet to a new workbook (so that you can still refer back to it).

Are your templates compatible with all spreadsheet applications?

We only use the built-in features of Microsoft Excel in the design of our templates. This means that our templates are as compatible with other spreadsheet applications as Microsoft Excel is. We also provide two separate file versions of the templates which contain the same functionality but by using different features. If you are therefore using an old version of Microsoft Office or Office for Mac, you will be able to use the .xls versions of the templates. For all Microsoft Office versions after the 2003 version, we recommend using the .xlsx version of the templates.

If you are using a non-Microsoft spreadsheet application, the compatibility of our templates will depend on how compatible your version of the application is with Microsoft Excel and especially the features that we use in the design of our templates. Open Office is generally compatible with all the features in our templates (even if you need to use the .xls version of the templates) but Google Docs is a bit light weight for the complexity that is required in some of our templates (more specifically the use of Excel tables and named ranges). We therefore strongly recommend using our templates with Microsoft Excel.

Can you provide me with the password to unprotect the template instructions sheet?

We protect the template instructions sheet for legal & copyright purposes and we therefore cannot allow this protection to be removed. If you do not want to include this sheet in the version that you are using, you will however be able to move the sheet to a new workbook (so that you can still refer back to it).

I need some changes to be made to one of the templates. Do you offer a custom development service?

We do offer a custom development service but it is a lot more expensive than the cost of our standard templates because the service is charged out at an hourly rate. Our customization policy is that we assist customers free of additional charges if the changes that they require are minor and therefore not time consuming. If the required changes will result in a major redesign of the template, we will need to quote an additional fee. We therefore recommend contacting us and listing your requirements before purchasing the standard version of the template if you require a customization and are not able to implement the custom changes yourself (you will have unrestricted access to all the data sheets).

Do you release annual updates of your templates?

If we released annual updates of the templates, we would not be able to offer the templates at such affordable and once-off prices. All the template prices are once-off and there are no additional annual charges that are levied for the use of the templates.

We do however recognize that some templates like the Financial Statements template are subject to periodic changes in accounting standards but the main aim of this template is to make it easy to compile financial statements in Excel and we therefore make it clear that the responsibility for accurate disclosure remains that of the user. If accounting standards however change in such a way that the disclosure which is included in our standard template becomes materially inaccurate, we will release a new version and we undertake to provide this new version to existing customers free of additional charges. All you need to do is contact us and request an updated version of the template.

Are there any annual charges applicable to the use of the templates?

No, the prices that are quoted on our website are once-off prices. This means that after you purchase any of our templates, you can basically use them forever without incurring any additional fees. Also note that if you elect to purchase a full membership in order to download all 40+ of our unique templates, the full membership price is also once-off and you don't need to register for another year in order to keep using the templates. Just make sure that you download all the templates before your membership expires!

What is the difference between the .xls and .xlsx file formats?

The .xls file format is appropriate for all users of the old Excel 2003 version while the .xlsx file format is appropriate for all users of the Excel 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 versions. The newer versions of Excel contain features that make it a bit easier to work with data in spreadsheets which have been incorporated into the .xlsx file versions of our templates. For instance, most of the .xlsx versions of the templates use the Excel tables feature which is not compatible with Excel 2003. This does not however mean that the calculation functionality differs between the two versions of the template files - the calculation results are exactly the same! Mac users should note that we recommend using the .xls version of the templates if they are running any version of Office for Mac before the 2011 version in order to ensure that the templates are compatible with their version of Excel. Open Office users should also use the .xls file format.

Which purchasing options are available for your templates?

You can purchase individual or multiple templates by clicking the appropriate Buy Now buttons on any of the Templates pages or the Add to Cart links of the Template Price Summary page. The selected template will be added to your shopping cart and you can purchase the template(s) by completing the shopping cart checkout process.

Which payment options are available?

We accept payment by debit or credit card, through PayPal and via electronic funds transfer (EFT). Can you please send me your banking details? I want to pay via electronic transfer.

All template and membership purchases need to be processed through our website. Please therefore complete the membership registration or template shopping cart checkout processes and select the electronic transfer payment option when you get to the Payment Options stage. A page listing our banking details as well as the payment reference that you need to use will then be displayed.

Do I need to purchase more than one copy of a template if I want to use it on more than one PC?

No, once you have purchased a template, you can use it on as many PC's as you would like to. In fact, we also allow a single version of a template to be used by all employees within the same organization but we do protect our copyright and all customers should therefore take note of the following copyright statement:

All our templates remain our intellectual property and are protected by international copyright laws. Any publication or distribution of the templates outside the scope of the permitted use of the templates is expressly prohibited. In terms of the permitted use of the templates, only the distribution of the templates to persons within the same organization as the registered user or persons outside the organization who can reasonably be expected to require access to the templates as a direct result of the use of the templates by the registered user is allowed. Subsequent distribution of the templates by parties outside of the organization is however expressly prohibited and represents an infringement of international copyright laws.

Do any of the Excel templates contain macros?

We only use macros in order to facilitate providing trial versions of all our unique templates. The trial version macros are 100% safe & secure and can be enabled in order to try out the functionality that has been included in the particular template. None of the full versions of our unique Excel templates contain macros. We've only used the functions and features that are available in the standard Microsoft Excel application in developing the full versions of all our Excel templates. This approach ensures that you do not need to install any other Excel add-ins or components in order to use our templates and that the templates will be compatible with any version of Microsoft Office that is being used (including Office for Mac).

Are there any additional fees relating to templates that are released after I subscribe for a full membership?

No, when you register for a full membership, you not only obtain access to the templates that are currently available on our website but you will also be able to download all the templates that are added to our website during your 365 day membership period at no additional cost. We're continuously adding more content to our website which our members effectively receive free of charge! We also encourage feedback, suggestions and comments from our members and the correspondence that we receive plays an important role in developing new solutions and improving our existing products.

Do you provide training or tutorials on individual templates?

No, all the templates contain detailed instructions on how to use the appropriate template which is the only resource that we provide in terms of the templates. You only need basic Excel skills in order to use our templates because all of the formulas that are required in order to provide the template functionality has already been included in the templates.

The Excel training tutorials that we do provide cover all the features that are used in our templates but do not cover specific templates. If you therefore want to improve your Excel skills, our practical Excel tutorials will do just that but in terms of template support, you should refer to the detailed instructions and contact us if you need any further assistance or clarification on how to use the templates.

Do you provide after sales support if I have any questions?

Yes, once you've purchased a full or training membership or any of our templates, you are more than welcome to e-mail our Support function with questions on any of the Excel features that are covered in our tutorials or used in our templates. Please refer to the Testimonials page for some of the feedback that we've received from our customers regarding amongst other things the level of support that we provide.

What does the training membership include?

Our training membership includes access to all our practical Excel tutorials and exercises. Our Excel training resources currently include 300+ Excel video tutorials which cover most of the core functionality that is included in Microsoft Excel. The training content ranges from basic features to very advanced features and also includes access to our practical Excel exercises and solutions which enable users to test their much improved Excel skills! All our training memberships are valid for a period of 365 days from the date of registration and memberships are not automatically renewed - if you therefore want to sign up for another 365 day training membership, you will have to complete the registration process again.

How do we subscribe for multiple training memberships?

Corporate discounts are available for all multiple user registrations. We therefore recommend that you use the quotation request feature which is included on all the tutorial pages of our website in order to obtain a quotation based on the number of users that you intend to register. We require the appropriate billing details and the full names & email addresses of all the users that need to be registered (these user details are included on our online training certificates). After receiving this information, we will send you a tax invoice for the registration of all of the required training memberships and once payment has been confirmed, each individual user will receive a membership activation notification which includes their login details. Note that all corporate customers also obtain access to our corporate account interface which enables them to monitor the training that is completed by each of the users that they registered.

Do you offer separate basic, intermediate and advanced Excel courses?

No, all our training memberships include access to all our practical Excel tutorials. We don't distinguish between basic & advanced Excel course content because we believe that novice users should not be limited in terms of the growth that they can achieve in their Excel skills during any pre-defined course subscription period. We also believe that due to the practical nature of our tutorials, advanced Excel users will also benefit from our tutorials on basic Excel features because these tutorials cover techniques that can be used to improve the efficiency of any Excel user regardless of their current skill level.

Do you also provide classroom type training?

No, we don't provide formal classroom type training. We believe that the convenient and practical nature of our online Excel tutorials enable users to develop Excel skills that are more durable than any once-off training course can provide. Our Excel training resources include a lot of content that is not even covered in standard Excel courses; the design of the tutorials ensures that users can study the tutorials at their own pace and convenience and the 365 day membership period ensures that users can easily refer back to a tutorial if they experience any difficulty with a particular Excel concept or feature. The categorized layout of the tutorials also enables users to view tutorials on specific Excel features while they are working in Excel. We believe that this practical learning medium is a lot more effective than attendance of a classroom type training course and instead of providing a less effective medium of training, we'd rather spend our time on expanding our already comprehensive training resources.

How do I know that the video files are secure? Do I need to install additional software to view the tutorials?

All the files that are downloaded from our website are protected by a 100% secure firewall and all the video files are based on reputable infrastructure - all our video tutorials can be downloaded and viewed by using the Adobe Flash Player add-in. This component is a standard add-in for most internet browsers and you therefore do not need to download any additional software components in order to view our tutorials. Our online flash video platform supports all Flash Players after version 8.0 - if you experience any difficulty in viewing any of the tutorials, simply click the link that is displayed instead of the video in order to update your Flash Player add-in or to download the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player.

What is the average file size and average download time of the tutorial videos?

The average file size of the tutorial videos is 0.5MB and the average download time is less than 30 seconds (over a relatively slow broadband internet connection). We have compiled a video file attributes document (in a PDF file format) which lists the file size and video duration of each individual Excel tutorial. Can I download the tutorials and save the files to my local system?

No, the Flash video files cannot be downloaded and saved onto your local system. All the Flash video tutorials need to be viewed after logging into the secure Members section of our website. You will therefore only be able to view our tutorials after purchasing a full or training membership.

Can I print a certificate as proof of the training that I've completed?

Yes, we provide Excel training certificates which can be printed after logging into the Members section of our website. The learning time that is included on these certificates are based on a standard duration that is attributed to each of the 300+ tutorials that are available for each version of Excel.

Why are the Excel exercise solution links not working?

The solutions to our comprehensive Excel exercises are only available to customers who have purchased either a full or training membership. If you have not purchased a membership, we unfortunately cannot provide you with any of the solutions or assist you with any of the steps that are included in the appropriate exercise.

How do I know that my personal details and credit card information are safe and secure?

All the personal information that is entered during the registration and shopping cart checkout process on our website are protected through SSL encryption. You can verify our security certificate by double clicking the padlock in your internet browser while you are visiting the secure pages of our website (the padlock is located next to the title bar at the top of the browser window or the status bar at the bottom of the browser window depending on the type of browser and version that you are using).

Credit & debit card transactions can be processed through a secure payment interface that is provided by a leading international banking group specializing in card transaction processing according to international security standards or through PayPal. All the card information that is entered on the payment pages of our website is secured through advanced SSL encryption. The private information that is required for executing the orders that are placed through the e-commerce facility, namely the customerís personal information, e-mail address and telephone number are kept in the strictest confidence and will under no circumstances be made known to any third party. Card details are not accessible by anyone aside from the customer who enters the details and the financial system through which transactions need to be authorised - your credit card details will never be visible to anyone in our employment at any stage during the payment process.

What is 3D secure?

The 3D secure card protocol refers to the Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode, American Express Safekey and other similar secure card authorisation programmes. Our secure credit card payment interface requires customers to use these additional card security measures in order to purchase our products. The 3D protocols provide an additional level of security in the form of a password or pin which is only known to the card holder. If your card has not been registered for 3D security through the financial institution which issued the card, you will not be able to complete your transaction. Customers who are not interested in this additional level of security can still make card payments through PayPal (you do not have to open a PayPal account in order to process your payment through PayPal).
